Reconsidering authorship in the Ciceronian corpus through computational authorship attribution

In recent years, methods of computational authorship attribution have offered promising results for the reattribution of classical texts. We use and further develop these methods to verify the authorship of several texts belonging or related to the Ciceronian corpus: Rhetorica ad C. Herennium, De inventione, De optimo genere oratorum, and Commentariolum petitionis. We use two classifiers, Support Vector Machine and Convolutional Neural Network, of which the latter is more accurate except in regard to certain aspects of vocabulary. Domböckerna och den tidigmoderna tiden hör tätt ihop. I denna uppsats undersöks hur historiker och språkhistoriker utnyttjat domboksmaterial i sin forskning. Metoden är historiografisk och jämförande. Uppsatsen visar att historiker ofta varit intresserade av källkritiska aspekter medan språkhistoriker har intresserat sig för frågor förknippade med språklig variation och förändring. Utifrån analysen identifieras tre övergripande teman som är särskilt gynnsamma för ett tvärvetenskapligt samarbete kopplat till domboken som empirisk källa: protokollföring (precision och tillförlitlighet), berättelsenivåer (textstruktur och -mönster) och skrivare (den gemensamma aktören). Transmission of knowledge in Venetian fourteenth-century chronicles

The doctoral thesis analyzes eight Venetian chronicles written c. 1340–1390. It looks into the transmission of these texts by examining their mutual relationships and by reconstructing the textual tradition of individual works. The research was conducted by using the book historical method in which an individual volume is examined from the perspective of textual history, its physical features and ownership history to give a global view of its genesis and functions. The method combines textual criticism and comparative textual analysis with codicological and palaeographical research. Tarkastelemme seuraavassa suomalaisien sosiaalityön tutkimuksen tilaaja suuntaa tehtyjen väitöskirjatutkimusten valossa. Sosiaalityön tutkimus on vakiintunut suomalaisessa yliopistollisen tutkimuksen järjestelmässä 1990-Iuvun puolivälistä, samalla kun sosiaalityön oppiala kehittyi nk. yleisestä sosiaalipolitiikasta erillisiksi ja itsenäiseksi kokonaisuudekseen. Kohteena on sosiaalityöksi kutsuttu tutkimuksen aIa. Tieteensosiologista sosiaalityön tutkimusta on meillä tehty lähinnä tiedonmuodostuksen ja asiantuntijuuden kysymyksistä (esim.
